Resolving "APP" Display During Moto Watch Firmware Upgrade

Resolving "APP" Display During Moto Watch Firmware Upgrade

If you see the word "APP" displayed on your Moto Watch screen during a firmware upgrade, don't worry; your watch is in the final stage of the upgrade process. You can keep track of the progress using the progress bar in the Moto Watch app.

To ensure a successful completion of this step, please follow these guidelines:

1. Stable Bluetooth Connection: Make sure the Bluetooth connection between your phone and the watch is stable.
2. Proximity: Keep your Moto Watch and your phone within a few feet (or meters) of each other.
3. Reboot After Firmware Download: The watch will automatically reboot once it receives the firmware file.

This phase may take a few minutes. However, if you notice the progress bar has been stuck for an extended period or encounter an error message in the app, please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Press "OK" on the app to close the error dialogue.
2. Long-press the top button for 30 seconds to power off the watch.
3. Long-press the top button again to power the watch back on.
4. Verify that the watch is successfully connected to your phone via Bluetooth.
5. In the Moto Watch app, retry the firmware update.

Note: If you close the app or exit the upgrade screen, the firmware upgrade process will stop. You can restart it by returning to the "Firmware Upgrade" menu and trying again.

If you've followed these steps and the issue persists, please use the "submit a request" option below to open a support ticket. Our dedicated team is here to provide you with personalized assistance to resolve any lingering problems.
