If your Moto Watch 70 isn’t tracking your heart rate properly, there are a few simple steps you can take to resolve the issue. Here’s how to troubleshoot when heart rate tracking isn’t working:
For accurate heart rate monitoring, the watch needs to be placed correctly on your wrist. Here’s what to do:
Correct Position: Position the watch just below your wrist bone for the best sensor readings.
Fit It Right: Ensure the watch is snug but not too tight. You should feel the watch secure on your wrist without cutting off circulation.
The sensors on the back of the watch need to be clear to function properly.
Wipe Down: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the sensors. Dirt, oils, and moisture can obstruct readings, so keeping the sensors clean is crucial.
Update Your Watch: Make sure your watch is running the latest version of its software. To check, swipe down from the watch face, go to Settings, and tap on About > Version.
App Update: Ensure that the Moto Watch Lite app on your phone is up-to-date as well.
Activate Continuous Monitoring: Ensure that continuous heart rate tracking is turned on. Go to Settings > Heart Rate and verify that it's enabled for ongoing monitoring throughout the day.
Proper Sensor Contact: For consistent readings, the watch needs to maintain a good connection with your skin. Make sure the back of the watch is flush against your wrist and there are no gaps between your skin and the sensors.
Adjust Position if Needed: If necessary, slightly adjust the placement of the watch on your wrist for a better sensor connection.
Certain environmental factors or skin conditions can impact heart rate readings:
Consider Tattoos or Skin Sensitivity: Tattoos or other skin conditions may affect sensor accuracy. Try wearing the watch on your opposite wrist to see if that improves readings.
Reboot the Watch: Sometimes, simply restarting the watch can fix tracking issues. Hold the button for 30 seconds to restart the device, then check the heart rate monitor again.
Sync Heart Rate Data: After using the heart rate monitor, make sure the data has synced correctly with the Moto Watch Lite app. If it hasn’t synced, open the app and check for any connection issues.
Factory Reset: If none of the above solutions work, you can perform a factory reset to restore the device to its default settings. Keep in mind that this will erase all data, so make sure you back up anything important before proceeding. To reset, go to Settings > System > Reset.
