If your Moto Watch 40 isn’t responding when you raise your wrist, follow these steps to fix the tilt-to-wake feature:
1. Make Sure Do Not Disturb (DND) is OFF
The tilt-to-wake feature won’t work while DND is enabled.
To check:
Swipe down from the watch face to open Quick Settings.
Look for the Do Not Disturb (DND) icon (crescent moon).
If the moon icon has a dark background, DND is active.
Tap the icon to turn DND off. Tilt-to-wake should now function properly.
2. Clean the Sensor
Tilt-to-wake depends on sensors at the back of the watch. Dirt, dust, or oils can interfere with their operation.
Use a soft cloth to gently clean the sensors.
3. Test Tilt-to-Wake
After turning off DND and cleaning the sensors, raise your wrist to check if the screen lights up.
The display should activate automatically when you tilt or lift your wrist.
