If your Moto Watch 40 isn’t responding when you raise your wrist, follow these steps to fix the tilt-to-wake feature:

1. Make Sure Do Not Disturb (DND) is OFF

  • The tilt-to-wake feature won’t work while DND is enabled.

  • To check:

    1. Swipe down from the watch face to open Quick Settings.

    2. Look for the Do Not Disturb (DND) icon (crescent moon).

    3. If the moon icon has a dark background, DND is active.

  • Tap the icon to turn DND off. Tilt-to-wake should now function properly.

2. Clean the Sensor

  • Tilt-to-wake depends on sensors at the back of the watch. Dirt, dust, or oils can interfere with their operation.

  • Use a soft cloth to gently clean the sensors.

3. Test Tilt-to-Wake

  • After turning off DND and cleaning the sensors, raise your wrist to check if the screen lights up.

  • The display should activate automatically when you tilt or lift your wrist.
