What to Do If Your Moto Watch 40 Isn’t Turning On

What to Do If Your Moto Watch 40 Isn’t Turning On

If your Moto Watch 40 isn't turning on, don't worry—there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to get it up and running:

1. Check the Battery Level
  • One of the most common reasons your watch won’t turn on is a drained battery. Connect your Moto Watch 70 to the included charger and let it charge for at least 30 minutes.
  • Try using a fast charger if available, as this can speed up the charging process.

2. Remove the Sticker

  • Important: Make sure to remove any protective sticker on the back of the watch. Sometimes, this can obstruct the charging pins and prevent the watch from charging properly.

3. Verify Charging Method

  • Ensure you're using the charging cable that came with your Moto Watch 40. Non-compatible cables or chargers may not provide the correct charging voltage, preventing the watch from turning on.
  • If your watch still isn’t responding, change the charging method. Try using a different USB port, power adapter, or even charge it using a computer if available.

4. Check for Charging Indicators

  • After connecting your watch to the charger, look for a vibration or charging icon on the display. If the watch doesn’t show any signs of charging, it could indicate a faulty charging cable or port.

5. Perform a Hard Reset

  • If your watch is charging but still won't turn on, try performing a hard reset. Press and hold the side button for 30 seconds. This will force a reset and may resolve any minor system glitches preventing the watch from powering on.
  • Alternatively, reset the watch via Settings > System > Reset.

6. Inspect for Physical Damage

  • Check for any visible damage to the charging pins on the back of the watch. Dirt or debris can interfere with the charging process. Clean the area gently using a dry cloth.

7. Let It Charge Longer

  • If the battery is completely drained, it may take several minutes before the watch shows any signs of life. Leave it plugged in for an hour or more and check if it powers on.
